LEVELS

Hey brothers and sisters! Here I'm back again to leave you another song of Avicii that I like (but my favourite will always be "Hey brother" ;D).

HEY BROTHER

This is my favourite song, I really like it! It gives me a lot of luck: in the First LEGO League, our team was very good (and the song was playing during that time).
Coincidence? I don't think so.

LAURA AND HER STORY

Laura was born in Cartagena in 2000. She grew up happy, doing the things that she liked, until she came down with cancer. The doctors first diagnosis was when she was only ten, in 2011. She was under chemotherapeutic treatment and physical therapy for a year, and she and her family thought she had overcome the illness. She started lessons again, at secondary school in September 2012, but a few months later the illness returned, and Laura fought strongly against that monster. During the time Laura couldn't attend classes, teachers from our high school went to her house to teach her, and when she was in hospital she also received lessons. Teachers from the hospital suggested her to make a blog in order to help other children with the same illness. The blog is called "La caja naranja" (The orange box), and everybody who has visited it can know the kind of person Laura was.

She was strong and tenacious, cheerful and optimistic, open-minded, loyal with her friends, calm and probably the best person on the surface of the Earth. She fought until the end, always with a smile on her face and a pencil in her hand. She was always supported by the friendship of 2nd ESO B. She missed us during these years, and now we are going to miss her...

OUR STAY IN AMPOSTA

From the 20th to the 26th of October, our class (2ยบ B) went to a camp in Amposta, Tarragona, called "Amposta Parc".
On the first day we travelled about 8 hours to arrive at Amposta! It was horrible. But when we got there we played a funny game with the other class. They were from Madrid.
On Monday we went to a wind farm and we saw a lot of wind turbines. After lunch, we worked on a project about renewable energies.
On Tuesday we played a game that looked like the Olympics. Then we made mini-bonsais with copper wires. At night, we did jokes and we laugh a lot.
The fourth day in Amposta we went to a rice field. After lunch, we went on a bike ride, and at night, we danced.
On Thursday it was Yago’s birthday, and we gave him some presents. After that we went to the beach. At night we played a game in which we had to sing, dance, say names of animals…

On Friday, we showed our projects and PowerPoint presentations. At night, there was a big good farewell party, and we danced a lot.

PROJECT WORK "THE WORLD AROUND US SPEAKS ENGLISH"

The world around us speaks English

Our natural and social environment

1. Sustainable development

The sustainable development uses in a responsible way the natural resources without wasting them, so it produces a balance between the human activity and the environment impact.
I think this is very important, in order to improve our environment. For example: if we spend too much wood from the trees, animals will become extinct.

2. Reduce, reuse and recycle

These are the three “R”.
Reduce means that we have to minimize the consume of things which pollute our environment. Try to waste and use less things, just what is necessary.
Reuse means to use again. We have to use things as many times as we can, not to throw them to the bin when we only use them once. The more things we can reuse, the less energy is spent making new ones.
Recycle means to throw the same materials together in the same containers in order to be able to clean them and prepare them to be used again.

3. Renewable and non renewable energies

Renewable energies are the energies that won’t run out, like sunlight, water or wind. They are energies that we can use as many times as we want.
Non-renewable energies are the ones that will run out, like oil, natural gas, coal...

4. Different kinds of energy

Energy can manifest in different ways: in form of movement, heat, electricity, electromagnetic radiation…There are many types of energies, but the most important ones are: chemical, nuclear, sound, thermal or calorific, mechanical, electrical, electromagnetic, hydraulic, wind, etc.

5. Types of wastes and residues

All the human activities produce wastes and residues: household, agriculture… However the amount and nature of the wastes are very different depending on their origin. There are many types of wastes that make our planet too ugly.
